Anecdote: Brian McCarron, my Dad, runs U3A lectures on how to use digital cameras. He tells his students to keep notes as they go deeper into the camera menu so they can follow them back to the beginning, like Hansel and Gretel following the breadcrumbs safely home.

Informant’s notes: When I told my Dad I was co-founding an Australian fairy tale society, he told me this anecdote. I said ‘that’s folklore!’ and asked if I could include it in our folklore collection. I think this rather amused him, and he happily agreed. So here is the first piece in our collection. Thanks Dad!
