Congratulations to Dr Robyn Floyd for winning the 2019 Australian Fairy Tale Society’s national Fairy Tale Award!

The award acknowledges contributions to the fairy-tale field in Australia – literary, visual, performative, academic – with awareness of what’s been created and its cultural value and effectiveness in sharing that knowledge.

Robyn is an expert on Australian fairy tales, exploring the history of their publication and impact, firstly with her PhD thesis and now her blog, Early Australian Fairy Tales.

She’s served on our committee, contributed to our Ezine and presented seminars at many conferences, including our own.

Dr Floyd’s name was engraved on a badge on the AFTS Award created by Spike Deane.

Artist Leila Honari also created a gift for Dr Floyd to keep.
